1. EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Program development studies are applied and considered to be a process
where decisions regarding the objectives and behaviors to be provided
for students in MONE. Organizational cooperation and multi-participation
is considered as the basis of improvement of teaching programs. After
decisions were made regarding the objectives to achieve and content to
learn; selection of several learning and teaching methods, improvement
of educational materials and determination of evaluation are included
in this process.
Approaches such as needs of the individual and the community, integration
of theory and practice, centralization of the individual during educational
processes, teaching subject matters in depth, emphasizing the interdisciplinary
side of subject matters, providing students a rich living environment
are included in the developed program. In addition, European Community
(EC) countries’ educational standards are also being considered in the
programs developed.
1.1. COMPLETED STUDIES
Program development studies are considered in connection with socio-economical,
technological and cultural factors in addition to local, regional and
international dimensions. These foundations summarized as community, individual
and subject matter area are improved for each course division and class
level to form the general structure of programs. Program preparation and
improvement studies are made by program development commissions formed
by scientists invited from universities, program development specialists,
education management specialists, assessment-evaluation specialists, and
area specialists.
In 2000–2001 academic year;
- According to the agreements signed between our country and the relevant
countries in order not to cause the estrangement of Turkish children
living abroad, to make them know and love their country, to strengthen
the bonds between them and their country, not to have orientation problems
when they return back to the country and to gain a modern identity;
- Turkish Course Teaching Program (Classes of 1-10),
- Turkish Culture Course Teaching Program (Classes of 4-10),
- Turkish as a Second Language Course Teaching Program (Classes 6-11)
are prepared,
- Secondary Teaching Institutions Guidance Program is developed to be
conducted by guide teachers (psychological advisors) who will help children
to develop as individuals knowing and being able to improve themselves
by caring about the individual differences among students,
- High School Sports Division Elective Courses - Sports Psychology,
Human Anatomy, Training Knowledge, Sports and Nutrition, Folk Dances,
Sports Management and Organization teaching programs - were accepted
and put in practice.
In addition in 2000-2001 academic year;
- High School Librarian Course teaching program,
- Division courses belong to Anadolu Fine Arts High School Art and Music
Divisions
- Division elective courses of Commerce and Tourism Education Schools,
- Cooperatives Knowledge teaching program for formal and non-formal
educational institutions,
- Apprenticeship Training Weekly Course Schedule and “Management and
Cooperatives” and “Total Quality Management” courses teaching programs,
- Anadolu Title Deed and Cadastre Vocational High School Weekly Course
Schedule,
- Private Armenian Primary Schools Weekly Course Schedule,
- Police College Weekly Course Schedule,
- Anadolu Meteorology Vocational High School Weekly Course Schedule,
- Health Non-Commissioned Officer Preparation School Weekly Course Schedule,
- Health Vocational Schools Weekly Course Schedules and teaching programs,
- METGE Project Travel Agency, Skin Care and Hair Dressing, Textile,
Pret a Porter Clothing, Shoe Technology and Elderly Care teaching programs,
- Industrial Vocational High School Industrial Painting and Application
Techniques Division teaching programs,
- Weekly course schedules and teaching programs of various private schools,
- Course programs of various formal or private organizations and institutions,
were accepted and put in action.
1.2. ONGOING STUDIES
- Being a member of UNESCO Mediterranean Countries Information Net and
having many schools across the country to participate in this study
is included in MONE’s activities. With this activity it will be possible
to follow-up improvements in the field of education taking place in
members of the European Community on the Mediterranean coastal line
in our coastal neighbors.
- By having multiple participation on the model and format which will
be used in developing educational programs and on the program evaluation
criteria and by conducting scientific studies, principles regarding
to these matters will be re-determined.
- Primary schools’ education programs implemented after Law no: 4306
will be reviewed, insufficiencies and unnecessary repetitions will be
determined, subjects planned for each class level by considering new
needs and subjects that continue in the following class levels will
be determined and education programs that include less number of subjects
but offering an in-depth education opportunity will be developed.
- The program development studies of courses needed for primary education
– primarily Turkish, Arts and Crafts Education, Life Knowledge, Social
Sciences, Traffic Knowledge–, secondary education –primarily Mathematics,
Geometry, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, Language and Expression, Religious
Culture and Ethics Knowledge, History, Geography, Courses in Philosophy
group, Foreign Language, Traffic and Environment Programs – general
secondary education and vocational technical secondary education fields
will be completed.
- Vocational and technical education programs will be re-structured
to complete the formal, non-formal and apprenticeship education and
programs will be up-dated by making them relevant to vocational standards.
- Activities for secondary education to be redeemed from the divided
structure it has today and to be structured to have new format which
includes program varieties in integration in line with the development
plan and council decisions will be concluded.
